     The D12 engine has compact structure, good rigidity, reliable operation, long life, excellent performance and good economy.  It retains some design features of the original WD615 (National II) engine, such as one cylinder and one cover, frame structure, dry cylinder liner, cylinder center distance, and cylinder diameter; it adopts a 4-valve structure per cylinder and a central injector to improve  It improves the quality of fuel atomization and has the characteristics of small ventilation loss and high charging coefficient; it adopts a rear gear transmission design (flywheel end), and the rear gear transmission has lower gear noise; it adopts Denso's new generation of electronically controlled common rail fuel  The system realizes five fuel injections per cycle. The UHD-type high-pressure oil transfer pump enables the common rail pressure to reach 160MPa. The DLC-type fuel injector has higher reliability.
